Alleging RSS role in polarising of votes on communal lines, the ruling Samajwadi Party said that the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh was trying to project Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as Hindu mascot by instilling fear among the Muslims.
"The RSS is behind propping up the image of Gujarat Chief Minister as the person who ushered in development in that state. The people will get to see the real of the Gujarat CM once they will get to know the reality behind his achievement," SP spokesman and UP Jail minister Rajendra Chaudhary said here on Thursday.
His much publicised personality will suffer a severe set-back, when the truth will come to the fore, he asserted. "The veneer RSS has put up will not last long," he said
Communalism has no space in the country and hence the Bharatiya Janata Party would not be able to save its image for long, he said.
BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is slated to address his inaugural election meeting in UP at Kanpur on October 19.
He further alleged that the RSS, the BJP and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) were provoking the religious sentiments of the people in the name of Sankalp Diwas.
The VHP had announced to organise Sankalp Diwas in Ayodhya on Thursday despite a ban imposed on it by the UP government.
