After much hue and cry over the suspension of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, 'Retired Senior Police Officers' Association (RSPOA) of the State has urged the central and the state governments to ensure that the officers of All India Services other State Services be allowed to work according to prescribed rules.
''The officials of the All India Services and other state services should be allowed to work according to the prescribed rules and they may not be suspended or meted out other punitive measures without following the laid down procedures established by law,'' the Association of 'Retired Senior Police Officers' passed in a resolution at their general body meeting recently.
A communiqué by the Association issued on Tuesday stated about the resolution and said that officers of the All India Services and other state services have been hastily suspended and harassed in a several ways in the past few years. Due to this, the morale of the concerned officers and employees is lowered down, but it also affects them adversely in performing their duties in a free and impartial manner, it added.
