After romping home at the bypoll to Kairana lok Sabha seat on a Rashtriya lok Dal (RlD) ticket, Tabassum Hasan will be in lucknow on June 6. She was likely to be accompanied by RlD general secretary Jayant Chaudhary.
The newly-elected MP will participate in a Roza Iftar party to be organized at the state RlD office in lucknow. The RlD has extended invitation to Samajwadi Party, Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party leaders for attending the Iftar party.
The win in Kairana bypoll is significant as for the first time, there was a united opposition in UP, with Congress, SP and BSP coming together and backing the RlD candidate.
For the BJP, defeat in Kairana has been embarrassing to say the least as it comes close on heels of the defeat in Gorakhpur and Phulpur lok Sabha bypolls in March.
