Ruling Samajwadi Party organised an Iftar for the Rozadars at 5, Kalidas Marg, the official residence of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's official residence.
SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav was present on the occasion while Chief Minister himself welcomed the clerics, maulanas and other people at the venue.
Imam of Tile Wali Maszid of lucknow Maulana Mohammad Fazurrar Rahman lead the namaj where around 25,000 people participated. Mulayam Singh Yadav nor the Chief Minister spoke to media during the Iftar.
But state Health minister Ahmed Hassan told reporters at he venue that Mulayam Singh Yadav is always with the Muslims whether it was in the demolition of Babri mosque at Ayodhya or demolition of the boundary wall of the mosque at Noida in which the SDM Durga Shakti Nagpal has been suspended. He also supported the act of the government to suspend the IAS officer to prevent communal clashes in the state.
Several imminent clerics including Maulana Khalid Rashid, Imam of Eidgah and others were present. Several of the UP ministers were also present on the occasion.
