President of Women’s wing of Rashtriya lok Dal (RlD) - Central UP, Ratna Pandey Advocate demanded immediate monetary assistance to lawyers in case they meet with mishaps and become crippled in the process. She also demanded pension for those advocates, who have attained 60 years of age or who were physically unfit to practice law and earn livelihood.

Pandey was speaking at a function organized at RlD headquarters in lucknow to honour advocates on Thursday. She advocated the need to bring Advocate Security Act in UP and demanded reservation of a Vidhan Sabha seat which was available for people of other category.

Speaking on the occasion, RlD national spokesman Anil Dubey said that advocates fight for justice for the common people but their own grievances remain unaddressed.

“Advocates have always played a pivotal role in the society and their contribution is no less than those contributing for the society,” he said.

The function was also addressed by state RlD chief Dr Masood Ahmad, who welcomed advocates participating in the function. Advocate Manoj Mishra was the chief guest at the function while several advocates and leaders of RlD youth wing took part in the function.
