Rashtriya lok Dal (RlD) national vice president Jayant Chaudhary has said that the RlD will play an active role in forming alliance of opposition parties ranging against BJP in 2019 election while showering praise for BSP Chief Mayawati for her support to Samajwadi Part in by-election of Gorakhpur and Phulpur in which BJP contestants faced defeat. He also invoked the Dalit leader Kanshi Ram during his address to the newsmen.

He said Maywati’s initiative in forming of an alliance was a good move and it showed the BJP the exit doors in the recent election. “People in the state are feeling cheated and it was their anger against the BJP government that reflected in the election. It is a mandate against the Centre government and one year old BJP government in the state,” he said.

Jayant told that RlD will continue its efforts to form an alliance to counter the BJP and it will to the side of the political parties which are against BJP while adding that the BSP support to SP in the recent election was not an alliance. “Right now we cannot term BSP’s support to SP as an alliance of two parties. It was in fact an experiment that yielded excellent results and I hope opposition parties will come under one umbrella to fight with BJP. An alliance should not be something like marriage of conveniences of political parties,” he explained in a philosophic way.

About EVM, Jayant told that he never told that EVMs were malfunctioned. “We have full faith on the election commission and it was duty of election commission to clear the doubts that had gripped the mind of voters in the country as it was beyond the purview of any political party,’ he said while .

He said his party always highlighted the issues related to the farmers, sugarcane growers in the past and it will continue to fight for the same. “In fact, the farmers are political ID of RlD and we never will let them down,” he said.

Speaking about the agitation of unemployed youths who were observing sit in at the road outside the BJP office and who were denied movement towards Vidhan Sabha on Thursday, Jayant said the state government was making tall claims of recruiting job for jobless youths while hundreds of the teachers were on agitation path as they were yet to get the appointment letters.

He took a jibe at the Prime Minster Narendra Modi saying the PM spoke jumla only to win people trust. “They mandated the BJP government that it never got earlier. But the people now seemed not interested in hearing Modi’s jumlas and that was why they voted against the BJP. I am sure that they will unseat the BJP in the 2019 election,” he said.

Earlier, Jayant a high about the late Dalit leader Kanshi and paid tribute to him and said the later leader had done ample work for the welfare of Dalits. The function was attended by senior RlD leaders Anil Dubey, Dr Masood Ahamad and other.
