RLD signature campaign against petro price hike

Rashtriya Lok Dal’s Lucknow city unit launched a signature campaign in protest against the rising prices of diesel, petrol and cooking gas (LPG) in Hazratganj, the heart of the state capital on Tuesday.
Members of society participated in the campaign by signing the banner.
People from different sections of society not only participated enthusiastically, but also expressed their point of view on the issue of rising oil prices and inflation.
"Oil prices are skyrocketing in the country, it is a matter of great despair and concern. When the BJP government came to power in 2014, the price of petrol was Rs 71.51 and that of diesel Rs 57.28. Today the same petrol price has reached Rs 97.05 and diesel Rs 89.75. The jump in oil prices is more than 137 per cent, which is terrible in the coronavirus pandemic times when people have lost jobs and it is difficult to run the house," RLD national spokesman Anupam Mishra said. RLD state president Dr Masood said at such a time, the steep increase in the prices of oil and gas had made people starve. RLD city unit president Chandrakant Awasthi said that today there was chaos all around in the state. RLD state spokesperson SN Trivedi asked the government to be ready to bear the brunt of petrol and diesel price hikes in the 2022 and 2024 elections.
