RlD lost its representation in Vidhan Sabha

The Rashtriya lok Dal (RlD) lost its representation in Vidhan Sabha as its lone legislator in the House Sahendra Singh Ramala joined BJP along with his supporters saying the RlD is nothing but a “baap-beta” ki party which is more concerned about their personal interest than party’s interest.

Incidentally, Ramala was sacked from the party after it was proved that he had voted against the party whip in Rajya Sabha elections in March end in support of BJP candidate.

Welcoming Ramala in the BJP party’s state president Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey said that with a sitting legislator joining BJP the strength of the party has gone up not only in Vidhan Sabha but also in the western Uttar Pradesh.

“He (Ramala) is the man who has his feet firmly rooted to the ground. He enjoys a bog support base which is reflected as hundreds of RlD workers including panchayat members and block pramukhs have joined the BJP,”  Dr Pandey said.

With Ramala joining BJP RlD’s representation in Vidhan Sabha has bene reduced to zero. The party will also lose its representation in Vidhan Parishad where the lone legislator will retire on May 5.

Ramala belongs to a political family as his relative Capt Abhimanyu Singh is a minister in Haryana cabinet.

RlD spokesman Anil Dubey said that they were not surprised over this development as it was a fait accompli. “With Ramala joining BJP it has been proved that he had cross voted in the Rajya sabha election. There is no impact on the party as RlD had already sacked him,” Dubey said.
