Team RLD national convener Anupam Mishra expressed concern over the kidnapping of a brick kiln owner of Barabanki district allegedly by four constables of Uttar Pradesh Police and extortion of Rs 5,00,000 from him as ransom.
He said, “Involvement of police in such incidents is a terrible tragedy,” adding that if the protectors became predators who would save the common people.
He was referring to the recent kidnapping of a brick kiln owner of Barabanki district.
“The incident not only brought shame to the police force but also tarnished the image of the entire police department,” he said.
Taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata party government, he said the claims of the Yogi Adityanath government on law and order had turned hollow.
Mishra said that the rule of law had completely collapsed in UP. “Now the cops are also indulging in criminal acts and the government is busy patting its own back,” he said.
Mishra said that election was near and the people would have to choose a government which could establish the faith of both khaki and khadi.
