The first meeting of state Rashtriya lok Dal (RlD) executive on Saturday demanded state government to extend separate quota to backward Muslims and constitute minority welfare bodies immediately.
The state executive meeting presided over by state party president, Munna Singh Chauhan passed six resolutions stressing on separate quota to backward Muslims as their share in government jobs and politics could be ensured.
Expressing concern over Akhilesh Yadav government's silence regarding quota to Muslims while Samajwadi party in previous assembly election had promised separate quota to them, in resolution it was stated, the government should take steps to provide Muslims benefit of quota in ratio with their population in UP. Besides if government was
not negligent towards minority communities it must immediately constitute minority welfare bodies including minority commission, Madrasa board and Waqf boards.
Pointing out at state government's inability in improving pathetic law and order situation, the executive members said, women and weaker sections has become most unsafe under
Samajwadi regime. The members also demanded roll back of hike in power tariff and to ensure sufficient electricity supply to rural areas for agriculture work.
