Rashtriya Lok Dal, on Thursday, demanded that the Central government roll back the hike in the price of cooking gas.
In a statement, RLD national secretary Anil Dubey said the government had already increased the fuel prices in the guise of interest on Oil Bond and now it had increased the price of cooking gas.
“The hike in cooking gas has derailed the budget of the common man,” he said.
Dubey said inflation was at its highest in the economic recession period and this had made the people struggle for even two meals but the Central government was least bothered about the hardship of the people. He said with a hike of Rs 25 in cooking gas, a LPG cylinder was now costing Rs 859. He said since last November, the government had increased the price of cooking gas by Rs 265.
The RLD leader said the Central government should announce a withdrawal of the hike in fuel and cooking gas to control inflation.
