Amid the unprecedented rise of coronavirus cases, the only silver lining is the increase in the number of people who have recuperated, as Uttar Pradesh saw a total of 16,500 recoveries in the last 24 hours.
Expressing satisfaction with the recoveries rate, the Chief Minister said, “Amid the surge of COVID-19 cases, these numbers of recoveries come as a matter of happiness. I urge the people to handle this situation very patiently as together we can overcome this pandemic soon.”
He also stated that there is no lack of any medical facilities or medicines including Remdesivir and other life-saving drugs.
Admitting that many districts have asked for oxygen concentrators, Yogi said the health department is making sure that oxygen concentrators are available at the respective districts on an immediate basis.
To make sure there is no crisis of oxygen CM has given instructions to assure availability of oxygen in the state. All medical colleges, universities, and institutes in the state will be closely watched. For this, a 24-hour state-level control room is being set up in the office of the Director-General, Medical Education and Training, where the officials will keep an eye over the oxygen supply and will review the availability of the stock on a daily basis.
While addressing a high-level meeting, the Chief Minister asked the officials to access the demand, review the availability of medical oxygen and maintain its adequate supply on a daily basis to ensure synergy across hospitals and the state government.
Taking cognizance of the current situation, CM also directed officials to check black marketing of oxygen and other COVID-19 medicines, and invoke National Security Act (NSA) and Gangster Act against those found guilty.
Emphasising on testing, tracing, and treatment, the Chief Minister said our priority has to be the implementation of an effective strategy to stop the spread of COVID-19. “We will have to fight the pandemic vigorously as there is no scope for any sort of negligence in this fight," he said.
CM also issued directives to double the number of Covid beds in all districts of the state. He ordered expansion of 200-200 beds in all districts with immediate effect.
Asking officials to visit the Integrated Command and Control Centre in every district, he said the daily situation should be conveyed to the CM's office. Yogi Adityanath has also instructed the officials to dedicate half of the 108 ambulance services for COVID-19 patients and set the response time for these ambulances at 15 minutes or less.
The CM has strictly instructed to conduct the last rites of the COVID patients with respect. Extending sympathies and deepest condolences to the bereaved families, CM said, “Death of a single citizen is a loss of state.”
