Riots: Cong hits out at SP govt

Published on:

Congress Party accused chief minister and Samajwadi Party leaders for using the police force as well as bureaucracy to execute their Party or personal agenda for which the innocent public already paid the price in form of Muzaffanagar riots which till now claimed 49 lives besides leaving over 50000 people homeless.

" The foundation of worst ever riots was laid down by the government themselves when they removed  DM and SSP of Muzaffanagar just as they initiated action in connection with incident on August 27", alleged spokesman of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee Amarnath Agarwal. He claimed that later the sting operation clearly pointed the sinister plan of the Government to push Muzaffanagar into riots. " The sting operation pointed that how a powerful minister influenced the police to set free the trouble makers as well as to sit idle", pointed UPCC spokesman adding that even the director general of police Deo Raj Nagar went on to confess that the cops kept sitting idle with no police presence evident in some areas when Muzaffarnagar was burning.

Amarnath Agarwal further said that besides Muzaffarnagar, how the top officers were dancing to the tunes of Samajwadi Party leaders again came to the fore in Moradabad. "SSP Moradabad brutally assaulted three of his sub-oridnates just as they kept Samajwadi Party candidate for Parliament seat in Moradabad kept waiting at his office for some time", cited Amarnath Agarwal while thanking the media who high-lighted the issue otherwise chief minister Akhilesh Yadav would have rewarded the officer for showing his loyality towards Samajwadi Party leader instead of suspending him.

Congress spokesman further cited the action on IAS officer of Durga Shakti Nagpal and the manner in which her suspension was revoked. "Everyone knew that Durga Shakti Nagpal was suspended just as she took action against power lobby of sand mining mafias had blessings of senior SP leader enjoying minister of state status but it was chief minister Akhilesh and his team who gave it communal colour by claiming that action was taken  as she got the wall of under construction mosque razed", claimed Amarnath adding that even when the entire nation stood behind the officer, Chief Minister refused to listen anything

and stood with his action. However, what transformed him just when Durga Shakti Nagar met him that he reinstated her within 24-hours. "
The manner in which Akhilesh reinstated her soon after Durga met him and also withdraw the enquiry against her clearly proved that chief minister just wanted that the bureaucracy would not raise head against him even for fair work otherwise he or she had to pay the price", pointed Amarnath Agarwal while adding that it is a very alarming trend as no one in future will dare to act against misdeeds of the Samajwadi Party leaders.
