Alleging that corruption prevails in MPlad and legislators’ fund schemes, called Sansd and Vidhayak Nidi, Basic Education Minister Ram Gobind Chaudhry said that it was the right time for the Union Government to close down these schemes.
“It is now no longer a secret that corruption plagues Sansad Nidhi and Vidhayak Nidhi schemes. The corruption is so deep rooted that even those legislators and MPs who do not take commission are seen as corrupt,” Chaudhry said here on Sunday.
He said this is the right time that union government should close down these schemes. This will help the honest politicians to show their worth. Aaaj kal ki duniya mein to gadha aur ghoda sab ek hee hain,” he said.
Celebration of Jai Prakash Narain Anniversary was probably the right moment for Chaudhry to speak his heart out. He spoke at length about corruption in political system and how white khadi has become synonym of corruption in the present system.
“Why to go far … look at the panchayat election. The voter and candidate both are indulged in mal practice. The voter is putting up demands and the candidates are trying to fulfill those. The demand could be anything from murga to daru. This corruption has taken a bigger form at higher level,” he said.
“This is the right time to revive JP’s agitation. The youth should come forward to clean corruption from the system. It was JP’s single handed initiative that united youth that against the tyranny of emergency,” he said.
later addressing people Governor Ram Naik suggested that a statue of Jai Prakash should be installed in lucknow. “We have many statues of prominent leaders in lucknow and should have one for. JP really deserves this honour,” he said.
