Reports said that teenage daughters of a retired judge boarded S-5 coach of Delhi bound Magdh Express from Allahabad on early Thursday morning. They claimed that as the train nearing Kanpur, half a dozen jawans of army molested them and when they objected, they assaulted and threatened them with their lives. They claimed to have somehow called the police control room near Chandari Railway Station in Kanpur and appraised the cops of the excesses of army personnel. They revealed that luckily, the cops of the Government Railway Police in Etawah responded to their calls and entered into their coach and took two of the jawans in their custody. later a case was registered and both the jawans, identified as Nayak, Amit Kumar Rai and Nayak, Tapesh Kumar Singh, posted at Bihar Regiment in Danapur at Patna, Bihar, were arrested.

In Faizabad, body of a woman probably in her mid-twenties was found lying in a secluded place at Themavaisya hamlet of Inayatnagar on Wednesday evening. A case has been registered and body was sent for post-mortem examination. Efforts were made to maintain identity of the victim.

In one another case reported from Banda, some miscreants killed a 16-year-old

Dalit girl after they failed in their attempt to abduct her from her home in Aliha hamlet of the district. The girl, a student of class 10, was sleeping when the miscreants climbed up into the house and tried to abduct her, and when she resisted, they battered her to death with stones and bricks. Her father has filed a complaint against neighbours. last month, the elder sister of the girl who was ‘divyang’ was abducted and police have been unable to trace her. However, even now after the above killing, the cops claimed some suspicion over the report lodged by the family.

In Aligarh, 35-year-old Arti Mittal, a resident of Railway Road Colony, who is a teacher in Blue Bird School, was going to join her duty on Thursday morning when two motorcycle borne miscreants fired at her near Gandhi Park.
