Reopen edu institutions only after 100 per cent vaccination of kids: RLD

Rashtriya Lok Dal’s Uttar Pradesh unit, on Thursday, asked the state government not to allow reopening of educational institutions without 100 per cent vaccination.

In a statement, RLD national spokesperson Anupam Mishra described the state government’s decision to reopen educational institutions from August 16 as disastrous and said that when there was a possibility of the arrival of the third wave of coronavirus outbreak, it could be even more fatal and as it was more likely to affect children.

“Till now the vaccination of children under 18 years of age has not even started. The decision to open educational institutions at such a time shows the insensitivity and intellectual bankruptcy of the government. Significantly, the state government has announced that the process of reopening of educational institutions in two shifts should be started from August 16 onwards,” he said.

Mishra said that if the educational institutions reopened then many problems would arise simultaneously like children would go to schools by van or bus.

“If a single child in the vehicles gets infected, it will cause infection to everyone and can infect the child’s own family as well. If the state and the people are to be saved from catastrophic devastation, then educational institutions should not be opened until 100 per cent vaccination of children is completed,” he said.
