Unlike the public outcry against growing rape cases which also forced the central government to bring in ordinance paving way for capital punishment to those involved in rape of minor girls till 12-years of age, residents of native village of rape accused Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MlA, Kuldeep Singh Sengar, in Unnao as well as his supporters took out in open in his support. They took out procession in the Unnao district on Monday and alleged that the rape charge on the MlA has been `framed’ to defame the leader.
Interestingly, many of those who were present during the procession were also said to be witness to the gruesome killing of rape victim’s father by the MlA’s brother Atul Singh Sengar and other henchmen. Reports said that people including women in large number took out `peace procession’ from Bangarmau, Safipur, Bhighamau, and some other localities having posters claiming Kuldeep Singh Sengar as `innocent’ and that rape charges on the MlA have been fabricated just to settle political scores.
Zila Panchayat Member from Bangarmau, Raghvendra Singh, later claimed that all charges on the MlA have been just frames and were `fabricated’ to defame Kuldeep Singh Sengar. The public claimed that the MlA could not rape anyone. The public appealed that the CBI should make fair probe and let the truth come out in open.
Meanwhile, the uncle of the rape victim reportedly provided some vital clues regarding the weapons used by the MlA and his henchmen to terrorise them along with evidences of brutal attack on rape victim’s father by MlA’s brother and henchmen leading to his death. He also reportedly revealed that the killing was orchestrated at the behest of the MlA, who even threatened him of dire consequences over telephone. The conversation between the MlA and victim’s uncle is already with the probing CBI team, however, they yet not name named Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the murder case. Atul Singh Sengar, and his four associates, who all were in police custody remand of the CBI, were lodged back in jail after their four days remand expired on Sunday. The remand of the MlA will expire on April 27.
