Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the demise of senior farmer leader and BJP MP from Kairana Hukum Singh saying his death is an irreparable loss to the party and state.
In a condolence message Chief Minister said that Hukum Singh was a senior public leader who was soft spoken and well known for his in-depth knowledge about parliamentary system and traditions. “His stint as a minister in Uttar Pradesh Government would always be remembered”, the Chief Minister said and also recalled his persistent struggle for the farmers and their causes.
Yogi said that before joining politics Hukum Singh had served in the Indian Army as a Captain and also participated in the Indo-Pak war. In his demise the people had lost a real well-wisher and the party a committed leader, Chief Minister said.
Praying for peace to the departed soul Chief Minister also extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family of the late leader.
Governor Ram Naik said that Hukum Singh has a ground level leader who had worked in social sector and worked for the uplift of the weaker section of the society. “He was a leader of farmers and could relate their problems with his own. With death the farmers have lost a well wisher,” he said.
Hukum Singh, 79, had died at a hospital in Noida on Sturday and was cremated in his native town Kairana, in Shamli district.
