After two days of deliberations, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has given a clean chit to all the land purchase deals made by the trust with private persons, saying the purchases were clean and were carried out with the intent to build a grand temple.
Trust’s treasurer Swami Govind Giri, while talking to reporters here on Thursday, said that they found no lapses in the land purchase.
“The members of the Trust have scrutinised all the papers of the land purchase deal and have found nothing wrong,” he said.
Giri said all the land was purchased at a price less than the market rate and the money transactions were clean and were carried out between banks.
“If those people who have leveled allegations can help us in getting cheaper land at the same location, the Trust would be obliged to them,” he said.
“I want to assure everyone that the work on Shri Ram temple will continue with full honesty and transparency,” he added.
Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh had given a police complaint at Ayodhya police station to register an FIR over the land purchase scam.
Giri said that he personally did not want to sue anyone but if the trustees wanted they could go ahead and he would be with them. He said that in the last 15-20 days many questions had been raised on the committee. He said it was only an attempt to create confusion among the devotees of Ram.
“I assure everyone that they should not be under any illusion. A grand temple of Lord Shri Ram will be built before time,” he said.
Giri further clarified that more land was needed for the construction of the wall and retaining wall of the temple complex, for extension of sanctum sanctorum and it would be taken with the consent of the local citizens.
During the press conference, Mahant Kamal Nayan Das, the successor of Maniram Das, Mahant Dinendra Das, Vimalendra Mohan Pratap Mishra and Kameshwar Chaupal were present.
