Ram Janmabhoomi complex belongs to Hindus : VHP

Published on:

Ruling out mediation as a solution to the vexed Ayodhya issue, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) said that Ram Janmabhoomi complex belongs to Hindus as archeological proofs suggest that the place was lord Rama’s birth place and Hindus would not compromise on this any further.

“Time for mediation is over now. We know Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is coming to Ayodhya and the VHP feels it is purely his personal visit. He has not contacted us nor have we asked him to come to Ayodhya. After the Supreme Court gave some suggestions, some people, who are not involved with the Ayodhya movement have now offered mediation,” VHP spokesman Sharad Sharma said in a statement issued from Ayodhya on Wednesday.

“And why should we go for mediation. The place belongs to Hindu samaj. Why would Hindu samaj go for any 'samjhauta' on its own property,” Sharma said adding that Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has proved that the place was a Hindu temple and the sanctum sanctorum was the place where lord Rama was born.

Sharma said that the VHP and saints through Dharam Sansads have clarified that the temple should be constructed by formulating a law.

"The 15th edition of Dharam Sansad will be held in Udupi in Karnataka from November 24 and 26. The saints there will decide about construction of Ram Temple. They will also deliberate on Ganga and Gau Raksha," Sharma said.

“Bhagwan Rama is a matter for faith for all Hindus. We cannot compromise on His existence. His temple already exists in Ayodhya. The need is to transfer the deity from th ramshackle structure to a magnificent temple,” he said and added that the construction of mosque is not acceptable to us inside the complex.
