BJP MP Udit Raj has criticize the state government for showing undue haste in reverting the schedule caste employees following the Supreme Court quashing the promotion in reservation for the dalit community employees. Udit Raj who also heads All India confederation of SCIJ ST organizations said even those officers who were recruited through the competitive examinations were also reverted by the state government.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday the BJP MP said the present Samajwadi party government headed by Akhilesh Yadav is patently anti dalit and it has done the maximum it could do to damage the dalit community officers and employees in the cover of implementing the apex court order. He said the Sub inspectors of the police department who were directly recruited to the post were also reverted to the post of head constables following the Supreme Court order even as they were not benefitted by the policy of reservation in promotion. The Supreme Court had quashed the quota in promotion for the SC/St employees in April 2013.
The dalit MP of the BJP said the NDA government at the Center is seized of the matter and the we have raised the demand in the party forum for the passage of the 117th constitution amendment bill for restoring the facility of reservation in promotion for the SC/St employees. He said there is lot of misconception and misinformation among the upper castes about reservation for schedule caste in state services, leading them to oppose the reservation for the schedule caste. `` It is highly erroneous to believe that the reservation for dalits is at the cost of upper caste and hurting their interests. Far from divisive , the reservation has brought equality and harmony in society as it has empowered the most under privileged sections of society’’, said the BJP MP.
"Annually nearly 1,000 persons are inducted in civil services and with 22 percent reservation 220 seats go to SC and St. If the upper castes get all the seats, will that solve all their problems. If the people from the weaker sections who were victims of discrimination for thousands of years, then it is helping to address the historical imbalance in the society’’, argued the BJP MP.
lashing out at the Samajwadi party led state government the BJP MP said `` the state government is not only depriving the SC employees of their dues it is also working against the interests of the OBCs by not implementing the roster system in fixing the seniority list of the officers and employees in each department as per the roster’’. Udit Raj said the UP State OBCs Commission headed by a Samajwadi party leader too has brought this to the notice of the state government but no action has been taken by the state government to end the injustice with the OBCs employees.
The BJP MP also criticized the judiciary for it’s over zeal against reservation for the dalits and OBCs. He said the Supreme Court amended its own order to deny reservation in promotion to SC/ST officers asnd employees in public sector banks. ``In 2015, the Supreme court had upheld the order of Madras high court for promotion in reservation for SC/St officers up to scale –VI, the same court amended its own order on January 8 this year’’. Moreover he said Justice JS Pardiwala of the Gujarat high court went to extent of saying that reservation and corruption has ruined the country.
