Calling Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath government as killer Uttar Pradesh Congress president Raj Babbar said that criminal cases under section 302 of the IPC should be registered against the CM, his two health ministers and the officials for the ‘massacre’ of children.
Babbar even questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his silence saying why Pradhan sevak is keeping mum on criminal act of the BJP government in UP. “The death of 70 children proves that when Yogi cannot do anything in his Parliamentary constituency how will he run the state,” he said while talking to reporters here on Sunday.
Babbar had visited Gorakhpur along with other senior party leaders. “Government has ordered a probe but what actually it will probe,” he asks. “Government has claimed that no child has died because of oxygen supply but at the same time has suspended Principal of the College. Why Princpal was punished,” he asked.
Hitting out at Health Minister Sidharthnath Singh Congress chief said it is unfortunate that being grandson of lal Bahadur Shastri, who resigned after a rail accident, Singh was trying to cover up the lapses of the government .
“How can a grandson of lal Bahadur Shatri claim that this August the deaths of children was less then that of past three years. This proves the insensitiveness of the individual as well as of the government,” he further said.
Claiming that the government was making effort to cover up it lapses on payment of dues to oxygen suppliers, he said that even the employees of the hospital had written to the government on August 10 about the situation besides the company had written more than 10 letters to Hospital and government asking them to clear their dues.
“After the incident came into light all the records of death and the patients have been removed and family members of the dead children were chased away from the hospital by the authorities,” he said and demanded that each family of the killed children should be given Rs 1 crore as compensation.
When asked about what UPA government had done to eliminate the disease of encephalitis , the Rajya Sabha member said that UPA government had provided Rs 4500 crore and even a 100 bedded hospital was started.
Babbar also announced that very soon the party will launch agitation against the BJP government .
