Hitting back at the Congress, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that the ‘raincoat’ jibe of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Dr Manmohan Singh, was not an insult but an ‘honour’ for the former Prime Minister.
“Modi had actually appreciated Dr Singh by saying that when all were involved in corruption only he was the one who was free from charge. On this context the statement was made saying he took shower wearing raincoat,” Singh said while adding that BJP leaders respect Dr Singh a lot like they do to all the former PMs
Talking to mediapersons here on Friday Singh said that it was Dr Singh, who had said that demonetisation was the biggest organised crime and loot.. “Was it not a derogatory remarkIJ. But we did not react as we respect him a lot,” he said.
“The Congress reaction was irrational and they were trying to create unnecessary controversy over the issue,” he said.
