Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) said that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Hanumangarhi temple was incomplete without the darshan of Ram lalla at the makeshift temple site at Ayodhya.
Regional VHP media representative, Sharad Sharma said in Ayodhya on Friday that Rahul should have gone for darshan of Ram lalla first as the darshan of Hanumangarhi temple is said to be incomplete with the darshan of lord Rama.
Sharma further alleged that Rahul’s visit to Hanumangarhi temple was only promotional in nature and a political stunt and there was nothing devotional as such.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janta Party strongly reacted to the Rahul’s visit to Hamunagarhi temple. “The Congress leader’s visit is purely political and it has nothing to do with faith,” said state BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak in lucknow on Friday morning.
“The last time any Nehru-Gandhi family visited Hanumangarhi temple was late PM Indira Gandhi when she lost the elections after Emergency and sought blessings to return to power. After 38 years, her grandson was doing the same by seeking the blessings of lord Hanuman to return to power in UP,” Pathak added.
“It would have been better had Rahul Gandhi visited Ayodhya without any political objective,” Pathak comented.
