BJP has rebutted the allegation levelled by the Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi against the Prime Minister Rahul Gandhi in Jaunpur on Monday. The BJP said the charges levelled by the Congress leader were non serious in nature and a `bundle of lies’.

The chief spokesman of the state BJP HN Dikshit said here on Monday that barring the six years NDA regime headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Congress has ruled the country. He said it was during   the Congress rule that over 5 lakh farmers committed suicide across the country and agriculture was ruined due to the indifferent by the successive Congress government at the Centre.

He said it was during the Vajpayee regime, the government hiked the budget outlay for the agriculture sector and Kisan credit scheme was started by the government which immensely benefitted the farmers. He said the present Modi government has launched the agriculture insurance scheme which has substantially hiked the compensation for the farmers.  He said it’s amazing that all this is not visible to the Congress vice president.

Criticising Rahul Gandhi for calling the `cashless economy’ as gimmick, the BJP leader said `` infect the statement and speeches of the Congress vice president are gimmicks and none take them seriously and he is a free source of entertainment for the people’’. He added that the Congress is fighting for protecting its existence in UP and the party will cease to exist after next assembly elections.

On the Prime Minister Narendra Modi rally at Kanpur, the BJP spokesman said the huge turnout of the people in the rally has unnerved the opposition parties.  He said the success of the series of rallies addressed by the prime minister in UP has particularly   rattled the Bahujan Samaj party chief Mayawati. He said BSP is already struggling to cope with the exodus of the leaders from the party and growing popularity of the BJP has added to the woes of Mayawati. BJP leader condemned the BSP Mayawati for calling the huge turnout of the people at Kanpur rally as ` rented crowed’’.
