Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi would be visiting Bundelkhand region next month to assess the problems of the farmers and will take stock of the situation there.

Gandhi directed the state Congress president Nirmal Khatri  to prepare a two days programme of Bundelkhand region next month. “Gandhi gave this direction when the party leaders welcomed him at the lucknow airport this morning during his two days visit to his Amethi constituency,” confirmed UP Congress vice-president and chairman of the media, Satyadeo Tripathi, here on Wednesday afternoon.

Tripathi said that Gandhi is likely to pay visit to Bundelkhand after January 10 for which the state party leadership has started working.  The situation in Bundelkhand is very bad as farmers were facing severe hardship due to drought and other reasons, he said.  Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi is also slated to visit lucknow on January 17 next to attend a dalit conclave.
