Making a comeback into mainstream with Kisan rally in New Delhi on Sunday and taking part in the debate on farmer’s issue in lok Sabha on Monday, Congress vice-president, Rahul Gandhi, who was recently on two month long sabbatical leave, is likely to make a two-day visit to his parliamentary constitutency Amethi later this week.
Interestingly, when no informal communication has been made in this regard, the Party workers and supporters of Rahul are so happy with the news that they already started preparation for a grand reception of the party leader in his constituency. They wanted to give a befitting reply to some opposition group members who had put up posters showing their MP as `Missing’.
A senior leader of the Party, who was supervising the preparation claimed that in his knowledge, the local MP would reach Amethi on a two-day visit either on April 22-23 or on April 25-26. The Congress vice president is expected to visit the residences of the farmers who had died due to shock after the destruction of their crops in the unseasonal rains in the Parliamentary constituency. Around 9 farmers have died in the shock so far in Amethi
Rahul Gandhi is also expected to assess the farmers loss during his visit and even could address a farmers rally during his two days stay in the constituency. UP Congress general secretary and a close associate of Rahul Gandhi, Deepak Singh said here that the Congress workers are preparing to accord a grand welcome to the leader.
Earlier Priyanka Vadra, sister of Rahul Gandhi was slated to visit Rae Bareli, the constituency of party president Sonia Gandhi, but her tour was cancelled. Sonia Gandhi had visited Amethi on March 28 last to assess the crop loss in her son's constituency during his absence. She had responded to the people's question about Rahul, disappearance saying that "When Rahul will come back he will also visit Amethi."
