Rahul to visit Amethi on agranian isuues

In the background of food park controversy Congress national president Rahul Gandhi will start his three-day visit to his parliamentary constituency of Amethi from Monday in which he will try to raise agrarian issues.

Congress spokesman Amarnath Agarwal said that Rahul Gandhi will start his three day visit from Monday in his parliamentary constituency and will have discussion with farmers over the problems they are facing. “He will also enquire about the development works being carried out in the constituency,” he said.

All eyes would be now on Rahul’s visit as it comes at the backdrop of Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani’s visit where she exposed Congress lies over food park controversy. She had claimed that the park was shelved by the then UPA Government in 2013 after the company refused to go ahead with it if it does not get cheap gas.

“With Rahul ji coming on Monday he will clear the cloud. The BJP leaders are known for spreading canard. It is no longer a secret that BJP-led NDA Government has started a witch hunt. It is against Amethi and Rae Bareli and has stalled all the development projects of the region,” Agarwal said trying to steer clear of the controversy.

Rahul’s visit would be the first in his constituency after his 59-day sabbatical. The leaders and workers are excited over his visit. The type of response he got in Telangana and Punjab has made leaders confident that Congress leaders’ visit will infuse new life in the party.

The leaders are however not sure about his programme. Gandhi is likely to meet the kins of deceased farmers who committed suicide following crop loss. He will also meet victims of Rail accident in Bachhrawan and will also address a public gathering in Sangrampur on May 20. Besides that Rahul is expected to chair a meeting of congress workers, committee made for the development works from his MP lad funds.
