Forer chairman of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad and Mahant of Hanumangarhi temple Gyan Das said that he blessed Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi so that he became the Prime Minister of the country and could resolve the vexed Ayodhya issue at the earliest.

During his 20 minute close door meet with Rahul, both the Congress leader and the priest discussed the political situation of the country as well as in UP.

“I blessed Rahul to become the PM of the country so that the long pending dispute at Ayodhya could be resolved amicably,” Mahant Gyan Das told reporters after the meet.

“I told the Congress vice-president that politics has made the temple-mosque dispute in Ayodhya more critical and something has to be done to solve it,” he said.

Gyan Das said that Rahul patiently heard to what he said but did not comment.

“I also informed Rahul that we were repairing a mosque in Ayodhya, which is the property of Hanumangarhi temple. To this, the Congress vice-president said that it was the real culture of the country where a sadhu with the help of Muslims were repairing a mosque,’’ claimed the Mahant.

Opposed to Vishwa Hindu Parishad and close to Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, the Mahant has been stressing for an amicable solution to the vexed Ayodhya dispute in the recent past.
