The manner in which All India Congress Committee’s general secretary, Madhusudan Mistri, who is also incharge of the Party affairs here in Uttar Pradesh, had planned his three day extensive tour in the Bundelkhand region, that too just before the state executive scheduled to take in Mathura, pointed that Congress vice-president had some hidden agenda for Bundelkhand and he is likely to kick off campaign from the region. Mistri had planned a four-day tour but he cancelled his visit on next Tuesday as Congress Working Committee in likely to met on that day in New Delhi.

It may be mentioned that earlier also, it was Rahul Gandhi, who took keen interest to help out the people of Bundelkhand region, facing severe drought for the last several years, to come out of the trauma. On his initiative, then prime minister Manmohan Singh announced a package of over Rs 64000 crore.

According to official communiqué released by chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) media cell, Satyadev Tripathi, AICC general secretary, Madhusudan Mistri would visit lalitpur and Jhansi on coming Monday. In both the districts, Mistri would interact with the presidents of District Congress, Block and Panchayat level committees, along with all sitting and former MPs and MlAs. He would reportedly take ground condition of the Party in the region besides would also discuss the strategy which the Party should adopt to perform better in the region. He is also likely to discuss the names of probable candidates for the next Assembly elections.

Mistri would make similar exercise in Mahoba and Hamirpur districts of Bundelkhand region on next Wednesday while on Thursday, he would visit Banda and Chitrakut districts to take first hand account of the ground situation. Sources said that he will later draft a report and submit it to Rahul Gandhi before the Congress vice-president would visit Bundelkhand and address a grand rally.  Interestingly, Bundelkhand sena and some other Parties are also advocating formation of Bundelkhand as a separate State, so Mistri would also find out what stand Congress would adopt in the coming Assembly elections as the issue would play major role in the region.
