Rahul makes slight change in his visiting schedule for July 29

Buoyed by the success of the three-day Congress bus yatra from Delhi to Kanpur and the party chief’s decision to take out a similar yatra in PM Narendra Modi’s constituency in Varanasi on August 2, vice president Rahul Gandhi had now made slight change in his schedule for July 29.

Rahul was to have a one-to-one interaction with office bearers and booth-level workers of the party in lucknow, which hasnow been amended to a foot march from Ramabai Rally Sthal (the programme venue) to Raj Bhawan for submitting a report card on the non-Congress governments’ performance in UP duringthe last27 years, to the Government.

The Congress honcho’s move has unnerved the district administration as well as the Opposition parties. So far the administration has refused to allow the foot march citing security reasons, as it will be difficult to manage a huge crowd accompanying the Congress vice-president. Rahul is also a Special Protection Group (SPG) protectee.

“After making people aware of ‘27 saal,UP behal’ by the yatra from Delhi to Kanpur in the first leg, Rahul would now lead the march from Ramabai Rally Sthal to the Raj Bhawan on July 29,” asserted chairman of UP Congress Media Cell, Satyadeo Tripathi.

Tripathi said that soon the number of workers and leaders expected to converge at the venue is in the excessof one lakh. Soon after the interaction with office bearers and workers on July 27, all Congressmen led by Rahul Gandhi will march to Raj Bhawan and to hand over the memorandum to Governor.

“Besides Rahul, AICC general secretary and UP in-charge Gulam Nabi Azad, state chief Raj Babbar, CM candidate Sheila Dikshit, other leaders including Sanjay Singh, Pramod Tewari, Reeta Bahuguna Joshi, former ministers, former MPs, and entire UPCC office bearers would participate in the march,” he said.

Tripathi claimed that though the administration has so far refused to permitthe march, but they were trying to get an approval in this regard.

On July 29, Rahul will have a one-on-one interaction with the office bearers and workers at Ramabai Rally Sthal to get their feedback on party’s organisation ahead of the 2017 UP Assembly polls.
