Exhorting party workers to brace up to fill the void ‘to-be-left-behind’ by Narendra Modi, ‘who was doing more damage to himself than the Opposition, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi upped the ante on the PM at a Chintan Shivir of UP Congress at Mathura on Monday.

Attended by over 700 party leaders and workers of state, the conclave is said to be curtain raiser to stir workers for the 2017 UP Assembly polls.

Alleging that the PM was just ‘bluffing’ (hawa) on the One Rank, One Pension (OROP) issue of Defence personnel and nothing concrete has been done, Rahul said that Modi had failed to keep any promise made during the laqst poll campaign.

“Modi has cheated the nation in the name of ‘Achche Din’ and has done enough damage to himself than any other and is dommed to fail. Hence we should get ready to fill the void which is to be left behind bu him,”  asserted the Congress leader to the office bearers of UPCC.

“The PM had promised to hike MSP for farmers, but farmers are endling lives in every state. He assured youths of jobs and the Armed Forces people of OROP - but nothing has happened so far,” said he.

“Now wherever I go and meet people for feedback, they do not critcise Modi ji, they abuse him,” Rahul claimed.

“During his campaign, he promised Rs 15 lakh  to every citizen but no one got a single rupee. The OROP issue is yet to be settled even after announcement by the Centre. This PM is just bluffing and doing nothing,” he said.

Gandi said that Modi was opposed to the Congress but when we look at the RSS, we realise how important our ideology is. Iur party unlike the RSS which dictates to teh ruling BJP,” he added.

Referring to an experience of Steven Jobs - founder of I-phone, Rahul Gandhi told partymen that he wanted all the Congress workers from UP to work together and shine.

Interestingly, Rahul admitted that he had changed himself to take the party to anotehr level.

“Earlier I used to percieve myself as your leader. Now I see you all as my family, wherein any one could do a job more efficiently. Henced we all should to own collective responsibility and get this family to a new height,” stressed Rahul urging partymen to own responsibility instead of waiting for others to do a job.

Talking about his association with UP, Gandhi said,”when someone asks me where I am from, I tell them Allahabad and Kashmir. I feel at home at both places.

Motivating the workers, Rahul said  that Congress may be the number four party in UP, but the party’s ideology will always be number one.

Prior to attending the Shivir, Gandhi visted the Banke Bihar temple and offered a special puja.
