PUBG claims another life in UP Accused killed doctor's son after being scolded for playing on-line games

PUBG has claimed another life, the second within the last one month, in Uttar Pradesh.

This sensational fact came to fore during grilling of 20-year-old Arun Sharma, arrested for murdering Sanskar Yadav, the six-year-old son of a doctor, in Deoria.

Just to take "revenge" on his grandfather who stopped him from playing the online game PUBG, the youth killed the boy, who was the only son of the doctor amongst three daughters.

It may be recalled that last month, a 15-year-old boy had shot his mother dead in Lucknow when she scolded him from playing PUBG.

In Deoria, 6-year-old boy Sanskar Yadav used to come to Arun's grandfather Narsingh Sharma for tuition. The boy did not return home on Wednesday night after tuition and when his parents went to Sharma's house to enquire about him, they were told that Sanskar had not come for tuition. The family subsequently informed the police about the boy’s disappearance and launched a search for him. On Thursday, the family members saw the books and copies of Sanskar scattered in a field near his tutor's home. In one of the copies, there was a letter demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh for Sanskar's safe return.

Deoria’s Superintendent of Police Sankalp Sharma said on Friday that the police took the handwriting samples of all family members of the tutor and one of them matched. The sample was of Arun Sharma who was then taken into custody and interrogated.

During interrogation, Arun broke down and revealed that his grandfather often scolded him for playing online games and even refused to give him money. He said that when Sanskar came for classes, he kidnapped him and then strangled him to death. He also sealed the boy's lip with adhesive to prevent him from screaming or raising an alarm and then dumped the body in a toilet outside their home with the intention of implicating his grandfather.

The police arrested the accused on the charges of murder, kidnapping for ransom, and causing disappearance of evidence. Police also seized his mobile phone and sent it for forensic examination.

Meanwhile, in another shocking incident, the wife of a chartered accountant was found dead in a canal near Khurja town of Bulandshahr district.

The father of the victim filed a murder and dowry harassment complaint against his daughter’s husband and four others.

Sandeep, a resident of Bawdi mohalla under Anoopshahr police station, filed a complaint that his 30-year-old son Prashant Kumar's wife Mahak went missing from home on Wednesday evening. Mahak was a company secretary.

The next morning, police were informed about the body of a woman lying in a canal near Saimda bridge. Later, police recovered the body and identified the deceased as Mahak. The woman's father, Ashwini Kumar of Teliwada in Bulandshahr, said he got the news of his missing daughter from her in-laws.

Ashwani submitted a complaint to the senior superintendent of police, alleging that his daughter was murdered over dowry. Based on the complaint, a case was registered against Mahak's husband, her mother-in-law, father-in-law and sister-in-law.

Mahak was married to Prashant on December 8, 2020. Her father said they gave Rs 50 lakh in cash and gold jewellery. However, Mahak's in-laws, according to Ashwani, were not happy with the dowry. Mahak had given birth to a baby boy two months back.

The cops were waiting for the autopsy report before heading with the investigation.
