Public Response Vehicles (PRVs) of the lucknow Police would now have a woman police personnel in order to ensure comfort to members of the fairer sex.

``To ensure quick relief to women / girls, now PRVs would have a female police staff so that a victim could reveal her ordeal without hitch and the police could ensure immediate relief,” said DGP, OP Singh.

Speaking at a function organised to felicitate women police officials, Singh said that women mostly avoided to seek PRVs help as they found themselves uncomfortable in revealing their problems before male staff.

“After lady officials were deployed on PRVs, members of fairer sex could seek help from UP 100 round-the-clock as a female staff will reach at the earliest to provide relief,” the DGP said. On the occasion, Singh also flagged off PRVs with female police personnel deployed on them.

During celebration of `International Women Day’, Singh also interacted with the female staff of the department who disclosed that how in the absence of separate urinals, they found it difficult to perform their duty. Singh immediately directed SSP, lucknow to ensure construction of separate toilets for females in all police stations of the district.

Some staff also said that they found it difficult to reach police stations during emergency calls during night hours. On this, the DGP directed officials to provide cab services to lady police personnel during night hours and fixed the responsibility of police station in-charges to provide the services.

Besides, OP Singh also attended a programme in UP 100 auditorium and interacted with girl students of various colleges of the city on Thursday noon. later in the evening, Singh directly attended grievances of female personnel through his Twitter handle.
