provide adequate supply to all districts without discrimination

Protesting few districts categorised VIP getting more electricity supply than others, a consumer body UP Rajya Vidyut Upbhokta Parishad (UPRVUP) on Friday demanded state Energy department to provide adequate supply to all districts without discrimination.

Few districts represented by stalwarts in politics including Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, MdAzam Khan, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were being given  more supply of power while rest of the state was forced to face prolonged unscheduled which was not fair. Before any government all consumers are expected to be equal irrespective of whom they vote in elections, the UPRVUP chairman, Avdhesh Verma said.

Targeting UP Power Corporation limited (UPPCl) officials for preparing electricity supply schedule aimed at pleasing power politicians and neglecting majority consumers, Verma said, in their bid to keep ruling party leaders in good humour the corporation officials are covering up their faults.

For poor supply in state the senior corporation officials frequently every time blame on piling up losses but they hide the fact that bills amounting Rs 9000 crore were outstanding against government departments since long. If power corporation earnestly had tried realising revenue from government departments there have no crisis of power in UP, he said.
