Protest over not providing security to Amitabh & Nutan Thakur

Senior IPS officer and social activists raised strong protest over the decision of the district security committee, lucknow, which has refused to provide security cover to him and also to his wife Nutan Thakur, also a social activist. Reports said that a Committee under District Magistrate of lucknow has decided not to provide security to IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and social activist Dr Nutan Thakur saying there is no need for it. The two had requested Principal Secretary Home for their security.

later disagreeing with the above order, Amitabh and Nutan said that many IAS and IPS officers have been provided state security without threat perception, in defiance of Government order dated 09 May 2014 and some 500 persons have been provided security in lucknow itself merely on oral orders, while their genuine need is being ignored.

They claimed to be challenging the denial of security without stating any reason before the High Court where they shall also be seeking enquiry into improperly providing security. It may be mentioned that Nutan filed a case against mining minister, Gyatri Prajapati, and claimed to be suspecting that at behest of the minister, not just fake case of rape etc have been registered against them but she also suspected that they might be also got killed for taking up the matter of illegal mining in the state as well as to make a move of getting Prajapati booked for making huge unaccounted wealth through corruption. The lokayukata, who was probing the allegations had earlier in this week give relief to Prajapati when he dropped both the probes against him.
