The probe by lokayukta Justice (retd) NK Mehrortra, against two ministers, state mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, and Minister for Secondary education, Mehboob Ali, finally gain momentum.Sources said that after the notices served to the family members of Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, and other accused returned un-received, Mehrorta started probing into the companies which came into existence after Prajapati became minister. Sources confirmed that Anurag Prajapati, younger son of the minister, who along with his elder son, Anil Prajapati, had opened a dozen companies – MGA Colonisers, Desert
Contractors, lifecare Medical and Research, Suhag Export, Daya Builders Private limited, Excel Built Tech, Kahana Build Well, MGA Hospitality, MSA Infra Venture, MGM Agro Tech, MSG Realtors and MSGA Enterprises. However, what raise suspicion is that when the abovecompanies are under the scanner of the lokayukt, Anurag had reportedly resigned from the directorship from half a dozen of the companies in the beginning of this year though his resignation was shown accepted with effect from November 17, 2014 from five companies and December 10, 2014 from one of the companies.
Not only this, what raise further suspicion and the probing agency is trying to clear is that whether the younger son of the minister is a minor and if yes, than how he became director of the companies. Besides, lokayukt is reportedly also trying to clear that what capitalhas been pumped in the above companies during it’s formation and how much transaction took place later on.
It may be mentioned that a complaint was filed with Mehrotra by Om Shankar Dwivedi on December 11 against the minister alleging he has amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. It was also alleged in the complaint that Prajapati’s relatives including his wife, sons and daughter Ankita have bought immovable properties at the cost of Rs 340.49 crore and their current market value is over Rs 1,000 crore. Prajapati has denied allegations against him and has offered to quit politics, if charges against him were found true.
Interestingly, Om Shankar, too gave affidavit to Mehrorta that he did not wanted to pursue the matter. Meanwhile, Mehrorta also geared up the probe against minister forSecondary education, Mehboob Ali, who had alleged to be giving shelter to a tainted District Inspectors of School, of Hardoi, JP Mishra, even after the latter was transferred by chief minister, Akhilesh Yadav, on charges of corruption. Sources said that Mehrorta had already summoned all the record and files from the Secondary Education Department along with the facts that how the transfer order issued by chief ministerhas been not complied by the Department.
Sources confirmed that if Mehrotra found that Ali had supported theHardoi DIOS in his corrupt practices particularly in allocation of examination centers, which are black listed for cheating, than he would recommend further legal action against the minister otherwise, the DIOS would face proceedings once again. It may be mentioned that earlier on also, the same DIOS was suspended and action has been initiated against him on recommendations of Mehrotra. Sources said that two prosecution sanction order against the same DIOS, one in connection with two marriages, and other for receiving bribe were pending with the state government for further action.
It may be mentioned that a school manager of Hardoi district, BhagatTejgiri, filed a complaint against Ali and Hardoi DIOS, alleging that the minister was involved in irregularities in fixation of examination centers and granting affiliation to the schools through illegal manner. Tejgiri, provided a transfer order of Mishra, issued by chief minister on August 14 last, but still Mehboob Ali, overlooked that order and continued with the said tainted officer.
Tejgiri, earlier also made a complaint against JP Mishra, along withthen minister in Mayawati’s government Rangnath Mishra. In that matter, lokayukt, had found that Mishra had made irregularities and on his recommendation, state government put the Hardoi DIOS under suspension and ordered a probe against him. Tejgiri, alleged that Mehboob Ali, had not just got Mishra’s suspension revoked but also to get him posted at the same place and is not shifted him despite of CM transferring Mishra, after he informed Akhilesh Yadav, of the same.
