Priyanka opines no majority for lok Sabha elections

Unlike her brother who predicted full majority to the Congress in this lok Sabha election, Congress star campaigner and Rahul Gandhi’s younger sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that no political outfit will get full majority after the results would come to the fore on coming May 16.

“No political party will come in full majority,” Priyanka reacted to a question when asked that whether she too feel that Congress is going to get absolute majority despite of anti-incumbency and other adverse conditions.  She, however, claimed that her party will perform well and emerge victorious at various seats. Priyanka was talking to some media persons in Amethi just before arrival of Bharatiya Janta Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who is scheduled to address a big rally in Gandhi’s bastion at Amethi later in the day.

One day ago, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had claimed that his party will bag full majority in the elections and there is no chance of any Third Front government in the offing.

On being asked about her plans to visit Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency witnessing the candidature of BJP prime miniserial candidate, Priyanka said that “I have no such plans.” “Mr Modi can come to Amethi for campaigning as everyone is welcome in our home, but I am not thinking to visit Varanasi,” she asserted. “To honour the feelings of Ajay Rai, the Congress candidate from Varanasi lok Sabha seat, I had said that I will go to Varanasi but only for darshan,” the Congress campaigner quipped. Priyanka Gandhi asserted that there was a triangular contest between the Aam Admi Party, the BJP and the Congress on Varanasi seat.

She further claimed that the Party Organisation will be strengthened in Amethi akin to Rae Bareli. “My brother Rahul wants to re-erects this Organisational structure and need time for it,” she noted. She further said that all the people of Amethi are like her family members. “If any person of Amethi is associated with any other political outfit, it means that he is angry with us...but he is still our family member,”she uttered. Priyanka, however, showed confident in the people of Amethi as well as of Rae Bareli and said that both her brother and mother were going to win with a record margin ending the political tourism of other candidates who will be not seen in the twin constituencies once the elections will be over.
