After holding chaupals for the first time in her mother’s Parliament constituency, Congress star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra hold a Rs janta darbar’ besides discussing on various issues related to Party before concluding her two-day visit to Rae Bareli on Tuesday evening. Interestingly she also held meetings with leaders of Amethi, which is Parliament constituency of her brother Rahul Gandhi.
Priyanka Gandhi started her day with inauguration of Block Committee office of the Congress in Salon Assembly segment which comes under Amethi Parliament constituency on Tuesday morning. She later left for Bhue Mau guest house and holds a Rs janta darbar’ during which local people turned up in large number and narrated their woes before Priyanka. She said to have taken application and assured of further action in the matter.
later in presence of senior officers of the State Bank of India, Congress star campaigner distributed ten fans each to 51 schools of Amethi and Rae Bareli besides she also gave water filters to 21 schools. The distribution was part of SBI’s corporate social responsibility programme. later she chaired the meeting of the presidents of the party in Gram Panchayats, Nyay Panchayats and Block panchayats. Besides discussing on strengthening the Organisation, Priyanka Gandhi also tried to extract the details of on-going development work in Amethi and Rae Bareli particularly taken under the flagship programmes of the United Progressive Alliance Government. later in the evening, Priyanka left for New Delhi.
It may be mentioned that on Monday, Priyanka Gandhi for the first time held chaupals to take first hand account of problems directly from the mouth of the public of her mother Parliament constituency in Rae Bareli. She also holding meeting with the newly nominated leaders of District Congress Committee to discuss strategy to further strengthen the Party in the constituency. She also inaugurated a solar energy plant at Sairaini. Starting her two-day visit on Monday morning, Priyanka made surprise visits to many villages to inspect the development works like her mother did. Besides she also hold a ' Janata Darbar' to interact with the people hailing form Sairaini, lalganj and other adjoining areas. Priyanka made inspection of around 15 villages in Saraini assembly constituency and other adjoining areas, including Bhojpur. During the past two years, Priyanka was engaged in revamping the party organisation in Rae Bareli even though she started coming to her mother's parliamentary constituency since 1999 for campaigning.
