Principal, teacher found involved in forgery

Those responsible for teaching the youth and children to adopt the path of truth in life are themselves involved in forgery. A college principal, presently posted in lucknow was found to be collecting excess salary for more than six years when she was in Sitapur while a teacher in lucknow is also withdrawing salaries from two different colleges at the same time after openly violating the laid norms.
The above sensational fact has been revealed during an enquiry made under the Right to Information (RTI) Act on directions of the Information Commissioner, Hafiz Usman.  The probe was made by Secretary of the Secondary Education Board, and he submitted his report in the matter to take further necessary action against both the above.
Usman, who disclosed the above findings here on Tuesday afternoon, claimed that besides asking to take immediate action against the above teachers and to recover the government money form them, he also directed the Secretary of the Secondary Education to ensure proper action  if anyone else is found to be adopting  similar modus operandi and withdrawing extra salary of  any teacher was found withdrawing salary simultaneously  from two places.
Reports said that a local resident of Rajajipuram had filed an application under RTI that one Preeta Shukla, principal of Rajkiya Balika Inter College at Shahmeena Road in lucknow, who was earlier posted as principal of Rajkiya Balika Inter College in Khairabad at Sitapur before coming to lucknow in July 2008, had withdrawn salary of District Inspector of School (DIoS) pay-grade (Rs10,000 to Rs 15,200), when she was entitled to get pay-scale of (Rs 8000 to Rs 13,500). She had withdrawn the above salary for 77 months after producing a forged government order in Sitapur. However, after her transfer in lucknow she failed to get the DIoS scale but she reportedly remained quiet fearing that her forgery would come in open if she pressurised the officials to give her same salary which she was withdrawing in Sitapur.
Similarly another teacher in the same Rajkiya Balika Inter College at Shahmeena Road, identified as Shaily Yadav, too cheated the college authorities. After forging the documents, Shaily Yadav had reportedly withdrawn salaries simultaneously from the above college as well as from Nari Siksha Niketan in Kaiserbagh. Interestingly the resident of Rajajipuram sought details of the above under the RTI but the authorities concerned refused to give any inputs.
Finding that the officials where shielding the culprits, the complainant filed an appeal in the court of Information Commissioner, Hafiz Usman. Usman disclosed that after learning of the above facts, he directed Secretary of Secondary Education Board, to conduct a probe and the officers later submitted a report in which he confirmed of the above charges. Usman said that he recommended stern action against the accused in the above matter and if they would not return the government money taken illegally by them, then legal proceedings should be also initiated against them.
