The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the 37th Indian Social Science Congress (ISSC) at 12 noon at Aligarh Muslim University’s Kennedy Hall Auditorium, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on Friday. On the occasion, the Governor, Bl Joshi is likely to be visiting the University with the President of India.
In this national meet, a large number of delegates from all parts of the country will participate in the five day Congress on "Building Ecologically Sustainable Society". From past three days, the preparations for welcoming the President have been going on war footing. Additional District Magistrate (ADM-City), DK Sachan, SP Aligarh, Pankaj Pandey and team of AMU officials led by Registrar, Shahrukh Shamshad inspected the route from Athletics Ground to Kenndy Auditorium, to ensure security.
In this regard on Wednesday, a "Full Dress Rehearsal" of President’s visit was conducted in the university. Two helicopters landed at the Athletics Ground of the University. Meanwhile, AMU has issued directions that on Friday, guests having invitation cards of the program and university officials would only be allowed to enter the premises while unauthorized people would not be allowed to enter in the university premises
