Prashant Kishor undertakes fact finding tour to gauge failure of Congress party

To polish off his strategy on improving the performance of the Vongress in Uttar Pradesh, poll strategist Prashant Kishor has now chalked out an exhaustive tour plan between May 8 and 22. PK's team will undertake the fact finding tour to gauge what led to successive failure of the grand old party of Indian politics.

After the tour is over, Kishor would submit a report it to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and suggest on ways and means for selecting candidates and basic ingredients of the campaign in poll-bound UP.

Kishor is in touch with at least a dozen smaller outfits from the state including Janta Dal (United) and Rastriya Janta Dal, Trinamool Congress etc and is eying teh formation of a `Mahaghatbandhan’ (grand alliance) a la Bihar to defeat the BJP.

Kishor also wanted both Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party be kept away from the campaign to send a message that the regional parties were out of contest and the fight was between the Congress and the BJP.

Vice-Chairman of UPCC Media Cell, Virendra Madan said that PK had planned a hectic tour for his six teams to cover all districts except Rae Bareli and Amethi represented by teh Gandhis.

Madan said that between May 8 and 22, PK’s teams will visit all the districts of the state for their assessment.

Meanwhile alleging that government relief and funds were not reaching the people of drought-hit Bundelkhad, Congress leaders will tour all parched districts to review implementation of Central and state government schemes between May 9 and 22. They will be accompanied by city and district unit chiefs and former legislators and MPs to assess the ground reality. This was decided on directives of AICC general secretary and UP in-charge Madhusudan Mistri.
