'Politics is a fun' for Cong claims SP

Samajwadi Party has flayed the `Khat Pe charcha’ programme by the Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi saying `politics is a fun’ for the Congress leader’ and the Congress leader is in the habit of indulging in gimmicks.

Samajwadi party said as the earlier gimmicks like dining with a dalit family and overnight stay there    and Padyatra have failed to bring any change in the electoral fortunes of the Congress, the grand old party has engineered a   new drama   of organizing `Khat Sabha’ in the cover of Kisan yatra from Deoria to Delhi.

Samajwadi party spokesman Rajendra Chowdhjary said here on Tuesday  that the `` farmers had nothing to do with the Congress sponsored Kisan Yatra as the farmers  were kept at a distance  from the Khat Sabha and failing to decipher the speech of Rahul Gandhi the farmers went away with the cots after the meeting’’.

Taking a jibe on the eletist background of Rahul Gandhi, SP leader said `` Congress vice president never had anything to do either with the agriculture or the farmers and he cannot differentiate between crop and weeds yet he is trying to emerge as messiah of the farmers’’.

The SP leader claiming that the Congress never had any   connect with the masses and their grievances said that ``Congress enjoyed the power and pelf for last several decade with the strength of the common people and they have deserted the party. Being out of power for the last 27 years, Congress is now getting desperate and confused and unable to find the right direction in UP”s politics’’.  SP leader added `` the graph of the popularity of the Congress had been steadily falling over the last three decades   and it was almost nonexistent in the state’’.

He said the Khat Sabha and Kisan yatra of the Congress lacked the luster as it had no meaning for the rural people of Deoria.  He said the farmers and the agriculture sector were never on the agenda of the Congress and the distress of the farmers had begun right after the country gained independence. He charged that the huge indebtness of the farmers is the result of the anti farmers policies of the Congress. SP leader alleged that it was the Congress which dispossessed the farmers from their land and handed over it to the industrial houses.
