Inhuman and insensitivity of State police once again came to fore when they forced two sons to pull the bullock cart just to carry body of their father to the police station in Mahoba. The victim died reportedly due to cardiac failure while standing in queue to withdraw money on Thursday.

Taking cognizance of the video of the above inhuman face of UP police which went viral on Friday, the district police chief of Mahoba had constituted an enquiry under circle officer of Kulpahad and claimed that action will be only taken after the report will be submitted.

Reports from Mahoba confirmed that Ram Dayal and Deen Dayal, both sons of Baladeen (68) were forced by the police to bring a bullock-cart to carry their father’s body to the local police station on Thursday. Baladeen, a petty farmer of the Bundelkhand, died while standing in the queue of the Allahabad Bank, Panwari branch and died due to heart attack before he could withdraw money. He was reportedly standing in queue for last three days but could not get enough money to get himself treated following which he was very depressed.

Reports further said that when both the sons could not found any bullock to pull the cart, the cops terrorised and forced them to pull the cart to the police station so that they could complete the formalities of filling `Panchnama’ and to send the body for post-mortem examination. When the sons were pulling the cart, some passers-by recorded the police excesses on his mobile and uploaded it after which the clipping went viral exposing the inhuman face of UP police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kulpahar circle, Nand lal, whom the probe was handed over in this regard claimed that the guilty policemen would not be spared at any cost. However, police said that farmer died due to the apathetic attitude of the bank as he could not withdraw money for his own treatment. But the bank manager, Bharat Bhushan, denied the allegation saying that the deceased was given Rs 6000 a day earlier as the bank was short of funds.

Meanwhile Gulabi gang commander Sampat Pal has demanded action against the police for forcing the deceased’s sons to pull the cart as it was an inhuman act. She also threatened to launch an agitation if the senior officers failed to punish the cops.

National Bank’s branch at Kutba village in the district has sought security for himself after some customers threatened with dire consequences by some customers whose unused accounts were closed. Reports said that Kranti Rathi lodged a complaint on Thursday evening alleging that three persons threatened him with dire consequences after their accounts were closed as no transactions were made for 2-3 months, the local police claimed. A case has been registered in this connection and investigation is on.
