Member of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Nutan Thakur has filed a Petition in Allahabad High Court, lucknow Bench praying to enquire the foreign contributions to Congress Party, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and other parties as well.
In her petition Nutan, who is also a social activists claimed that her Party welcome the enquiry but they were extremely suspicions particularly as the announcement of this news has been made by Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde himself when Delhi Assembly elections are in process.
She also called the Home Ministry’s action one-sided because way back on 26 October 2012, she claimed to have sent a complaint to the Home Ministry as regards the Election Commission having asked it to probe the alleged violation of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 2010 (FCRA) by Congress and BJP by receiving donations of about Rs 5 crore each from Vedanta Group subsidiaries- Sterlite Industries and Sesa Goa but no action has been done so far in these complaints.
Nutan demanded that an enquiry should be made against all political parties, including Congress and BJP as regards every foreign contribution received by them.
