Pilgrims can now watch construction of Ram temple

Pilgrims heading for darshan of Ram Lalla can now catch a glimpse of the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya amidst tight security to “watch history in the making”. A senior trustee of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust told ‘The Pioneer’ on Monday that a 15-foot-wide iron mesh had been placed and pilgrims could watch the construction from behind it.

“The Trust was regularly getting requests from people, who came from far-flung areas of the country, to watch the site where the temple is being constructed. Earlier we were not allowing people at the construction site for security reasons. But now it has been decided to allow pilgrims to have a glimpse of the construction site so that they can go back home and tell people about the ongoing work. Arrangement is being made to showcase the construction work from Shri Ram Lalla's Darshan Marg. Pilgrims while going for darshan of Ram Lalla can watch how the foundation of the temple is being laid and how the structure will come up in a phased manner,” the trustee said.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust oversees the construction and management of the upcoming Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. Over 60 per cent of the foundation laying process is over and the construction of the temple is expected to start by the year end. The foundation work of Ram temple at Ayodhya is being done using roller compacted concrete technique and a total 40-45 layers of concrete will be put in a 1,20,000 square feet area.
