Taking a jibe at the Narendra Modi government over the rising petrol and diesel prices, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday said that the Bharatiya Janata party government should name that day as 'achhe din,' when the petrol-diesel prices do not increase.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Vadra said, "The BJP government should name the day of the week as 'achhe din' on which the petrol-diesel prices don't rise because due to inflation, rest of the days are 'mehenge din' for the common people."

Vadra alleged that the Modi government was increasing petrol-diesel prices every day by imposing heavy tax with the intention of benefiting the corporate but was ignoring farmers in giving them the price for their produce.

The Congress general secretary said, "The struggle of the farmers against the black agricultural laws is a struggle for their livelihood. Look at the intention of this government!"

She averred she was with the farmers in their struggle for their livelihoods.

Communicating with farmers in Muzaffarnagar's Baghra during `Kisan Panchayat' later in the day, Vadra claimed that more than 215 farmers had died till now during the ongoing protests for the last 90 days against the black agriculture laws introduced by the BJP government but prime minister had shown least concern towards the interest of the farmers and had instead called them `anti-nationals'.

She said the government's disconnected electric line, threw water in shivering cold and brutally assaulted farmers.

She alleged that Modi was working just in the interest of two of his industrialist friends and that too at the cost of common man including `annadata' (farmers).
