After dismal performance in last few elections with people started murmuring of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) soon to become `non-existence’ in this biggest State, the Blue Brigade surprised everyone when it found a new vote bank base amongst the Urban areas.
The victory of two of the mayoral elections when all the other Opposition parties even failed to open their account, and also getting it’s 147 corporators elected, BSP seems to have finally found a new vote bank base in the Urban areas. The Party is also runner-up engaged in close fight with BJP even in three other Mayors seat which they lost by a narrow margin. The results are shocking for the poll experts who almost write off the BSP in this Urban civic bodies polls claiming that the BSP is a not a Party having any base in the urban population.
``It was a healthy sign and a shot in the arm for the Party that now after our grand success in the Urban Civic Bodies polls, people could not call us the Party of rural area having no base in the urban localities”, asserted a senior BSP leader adding that now the reverse trend started for them and they will surprise everyone, including the Bharatiya Janta Party during the next Parliament elections. The Party claimed to open it’s account in 2014 Parliament elections while in last Assembly elections, they just managed to win 19 seats.
The leader claimed that now they will be the main Opposition Party for the BJP in 2019 Parliament elections, and with the Party heading two of the Nagar Nigams in Uttar Pradesh, they will show how the civic conditions could be improved by giving effective administration. The leader said that BJP had their mayors in ten of the Nagar Nigams even at present but the civic conditions is before everyone but now when BSP would also have two mayors, they will show the difference.
