Peeved with charges of rape on self-styled Godman, Asaram, a 55-year-old Sadhu made a bizarre move in Amethi when he chopped off his genital on Wednesday. He was rushed to District Hospital at Sultanpur where he was now lying in critical condition.
local police along with district police chief Alankrita Singh, who visited the spot claimed to be still unaware of the motive behind the move but the victim revealed that he was upset with charges of sexual abuse. Sources also confirmed that since Asaram was arrested for rape charges,
the victim was so afraid that he might be too arrested on similar charges so he took the step to chopped off his own penis.
Reports said that Baba Premdas, hailing from Madhupur hamlet in Amethi, and belonging to Udaseen Math reported shocked everyone when he suddenly took a sharp edged weapon and chopped off his genitals on Wednesday evening. His colleagues and local residents immediately rushed him to hospital. ``"I am not a follower of Asaram or
had any sympathy over police action against the self-styled Godman but I am upset over the charges as it brought bad name for the entire fraternity particularly when our followers trust us and even leave their future at our mercy hoping that our blessings would bring peace and happiness
in their lives", disclosed one of his colleagues while quoting Baba Premdas that what prompted him to have made such move.
Meanwhile mystery also shrouds over the brutal killing of two sadhus who were also found hacked to death inside their hut in the Kasganj on Thursday morning.The bodies of 45-year-old Sukhbir Baba als Ghantiwale
Baba and his associate Haresh Kumar (42), who used to live in Avas Vikas Colony at Kasnganj, were found lying in pool of blood on hursday morning. Some neighbours who went to meet the two sadhus were shocked with the killing. They called the police and informed them on the incident.
Circumstantial evidences suggested that both were killed sometime on late Wednesday night. The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained. However, Jayanti Prasad, who was father of one of the victims Harish Kumar, and residing at Daruwa locality of Kansganj claimed that he
was having property dispute with Jagdamba Prasad, Sanjeev Kuamr, Suresh Chandra, Shyam and one having nickname `KP’. He said that the above accused hacked his son along with Baba Sukhbir over the same motive. local police which rushed to the spot registered a case against the above accused and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.
