Party will act as bridge between Government and masses : Pandey

Newly-appointed state BJP president Mahendra Nath Pandey said that the party will act as a bridge between Government and the masses, conveying the people’s problems to the government as well as educating them (people) about the government’s achievements.

“The organisation’s primary responsibility is to ensure people and government were getting the required feedback. If people are not happy, we need to tell the government and at the same time, we will have to take the message of good work being done by the government to the village-level,” Pandey said while addressing workers at the BJP office on his first visit as state president to lucknow on Monday.

Pande said that people have reposed faith on them and it was their responsibility to ensure that they got justice.

“This party office came into being in 1980s with meagre resources. Senior leaders made sacrifices to take the party where it is today which the workers should not forget. I can say with resolve that what the BJP can do, no other party could ever think of. That’s the reason that even after our Assembly win, we are actively meeting people at the village-level while leaders of other parties were cooling their heels,” he said.

The state BJP cchief started his by chanting ‘Jai Sri Ram’ and the workers joined him in the chorus.

“Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya have given me a target which is challenging. But I assure you that we will win the local Bodies Poll and also win between 73 and 80 seats in the 2019 lok Sabha in UP,” he said.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanaths said that Mahendra Nath Pandey was a dedicated leader who carried out responsibilities entrusted to him as a student leader and also a Union minister with elan.

“I am sure that the Government and party organization will work in tandem to take the BJP to a new high. We have made promises to people and we need the party’s support to take the message down to the last man. The statee BJP chief will play a pivotal role in the coming local Bodies and 2019 lok sabha elections,” he said.

Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the BJP was the only party where worker was supreme and was more important than an MlA or an MP. “As state chief, when I made mistakes my seniors taught me and am sure our new chief will also have blessings of the senior leaders,” he hoped and said theat the parget of the BJP was 60 per cent vote share in the 2019 lok Sabha poll and 80 lok Sabha seats.

Earlier, the newly appointed state BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey was given a rousing welcome by party workers on his first visit to lucknow as party chief. Welcome arches were erected along the road from airport to the party office.  At around a dozen places, workers welcomed him with garlands and boquets.

“I am overwhelmed by this welcome. This was unprecedented and am indebted to the workers who came from different parts of the city and state to receive me. This reception will give a new energy to work for the welfare of the party and its workers,” Pandey said.
